Traditional Chinese Herbal Mud Therapy
Ingredients
Herbal actives: Ginger powder, Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis), saffron, Tou Gu Cao (penetrating bone herb), mugwort leaf, Chuan Xiong (ligusticum), San Qi (pseudo‑ginseng), Du Huo (pubescent angelica), cinnamon
Base: Mineral oil, white beeswax, microcrystalline wax, vanillyl butyl ether (gentle warming agent)
What You Will Feel – The Penetrating Process
Once applied, the mud quickly warms up and penetrates deep into muscles and meridians.
- General sensation: A deep, gradually intensifying heat – often described as spicy or “fire‑hot”.
- Normal reaction: After removal, you may see sweat or small water beads on the skin – a sign that the therapy is expelling dampness and toxins.
- If you have stagnation / blockages:
- The heat penetration will feel slower in those areas.
- You may experience dull or sharp pain during the session.
- The spicy/hot sensation may be stronger or more prickling than in healthy areas.
- This is a positive sign: the mud is breaking up blockages and restoring energy flow. Over repeated treatments, the pain and intense heat will gradually subside.
